About Gary

Gary Day is a proven conservative leader and lifelong Lehigh Valley resident serving Pennsylvania's 187th District. A former Director of Marketing and Human Resources at Service Electric Cablevision and Executive Assistant to the Mayor of Allentown, Gary brings real-world experience to Harrisburg. He previously served in the House from 2008–2022 and returned in 2025.

Family & Roots

Gary and his wife Susan live in Heidelberg Township, where they are proud grandparents. Gary is also a lifetime member of the Goodwill Fire Company in Germansville.

Leadership & Priorities

As former Chairman of the House Select Committee on School Safety and the Aging Committee, Gary is focused on protecting local control, keeping life affordable for working families, and ensuring our children are safe in school.

  • Giving local townships and boroughs real tools to manage growth and protect the character of our communities
  • Standing up for the right of Lehigh Valley residents to have a voice in decisions that affect their neighborhoods and property values
  • Promoting smart economic development that benefits local families, not outside corporations

School Safety

  • Leading the charge on practical school safety solutions, including wearable panic-button technology that gives teachers and staff the power to instantly alert law enforcement
  • Passing bipartisan legislation that enhances security while respecting local school district control
  • Supporting law enforcement and proven strategies that keep our schools and communities safe
  • Ensuring every child in the 187th District can learn in a secure environment without fear
